The John & Betty MacLean Scholarship was created in the 100th Anniversary year of the Scottish-American Society of Rhode Island to commemorate their contributions to the Society’s mission to promote Scottish culture. John MacLean was an educator in the City of Warwick for many years, and served as the Department Head of the Social Studies Department at Pilgrim High School. His late wife Betty served as the organization’s secretary for many years. John is currently the Chairman of the Board of the Scottish-American Society. He continues to ardently support Scottish culture and education in the State of Rhode Island.
This one-time $1000 award is available to a Rhode Island resident High School Senior. Click here for the application form, criteria and format requirements.
Applications can be submitted between February 15th and April 15th, 2024. Please email your application to standrewssociety1923@gmail.com. The winner of the scholarship will be notified in May, 2024 via email.
